Stop trading on stories. Start trading on data.

"Buy when RSI is oversold." "Gap-ups always fill." "Bank stocks fly on expiry day."

Passed around WhatsApp groups and YouTube videos. Almost never checked — because checking meant Python, clean data, and a lost weekend. AfterCloseLab removes that gap: type the question the way you'd say it out loud. We do the rest.

Data Bench

Talk to the market's history.

Ask what actually happened after any setup. Data Bench runs the study across years of NIFTY, BANKNIFTY and Nifty-500 history and answers with the numbers, the sample size, and — crucially — how it compares to a normal day.

You askplain english

After NIFTY gaps up more than 1%, what's the average return over the next 5 days?

Data Bench answersvs the base rate
Avg next 5-day return after the gap+0.62%
A normal 5-day stretch (base rate)+0.21%
Times this happened in historyn = 143
Hit +1% before −1% first58% of cases

Why the base rate matters: "+0.62%" alone is a story. "+0.62% versus +0.21% on a normal day, across 143 cases" is evidence. (Illustrative sample.)

Idea Bench

Test your idea before you risk money on it.

Describe the strategy in your head — casually or precisely. Idea Bench turns it into an editable spec sheet you review, then runs a real backtest built for how Indians actually trade: session timing, expiry-day behaviour and intraday square-off are native, not bolted on from a US tool.

Buy when Bank Nifty breaks the first 15-minute high. Stop-loss at the range low. Square off by 3:15.

Two benches. One loop.

The loop good traders already run in their heads — made fast and rigorous.

1 · Data Bench

Discover the signal

"Does this pattern actually mean anything?" Check the belief against history, base rate and all.

2 · Idea Bench

Test the system

"If I traded that edge with these rules, would it have worked?" Backtest before capital.

Research the signal, then test the strategy — from hunch to backtest without leaving the app. Or without writing a line of code.

Evidence over opinion — even when it stings.

Most tools are built to make your idea look good. This one is built to tell you the truth about it.

Every answer shows the base rate

Not just "the setup returned X" — but X versus a normal day. That's the difference between an edge and a coincidence.

Sample size, always visible

You see how many times the setup actually occurred, so three lucky trades never masquerade as a system.

States its assumptions out loud

When your question is ambiguous, Data Bench makes a sensible assumption and tells you exactly what it assumed — it never silently guesses.

You approve the spec before it runs

Idea Bench shows you an editable spec sheet of your strategy first, so the thing that gets backtested is the thing you meant.

The cheapest way to find out you were wrong

There are two ways to test a borrowed belief:

Trading it live for a week and finding out the hard way −₹5,000 or worse
Checking it against years of history tonight from ₹50 a backtest

One binned bad idea pays for years of research. And unlike a tip, the answer is yours — with the trade log and the sample size to prove it.

Fair questions

Is this investment advice or a signal service?

No. AfterCloseLab is an educational research and backtesting tool — it helps you check and test your own ideas against historical data. It does not recommend trades, generate signals, or provide investment advice, and it is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser. What you trade is entirely your decision.

What's the difference between Data Bench and Idea Bench?

Data Bench answers questions about what the market has actually done — event studies, scans, timing and edge questions — with the base rate and sample size shown. Idea Bench backtests the strategy in your head: describe it, review the spec sheet, run it, read the trade log. Discover the signal in one, test the system in the other.

What data do you cover?

5 years of Indian market history across the NIFTY and BANKNIFTY indices and Nifty-500 stocks, including intraday behaviour — so session timing, expiry-day logic and 3:15-style square-off rules are tested against how the market actually moved.

Do credits expire? Will I be billed monthly?

Credits never expire and there is no monthly billing. It works like a prepaid recharge: pay once, use whenever. Nothing renews, so there's nothing to cancel.

What if my question is vague, or my strategy can't be expressed?

Data Bench makes a sensible assumption and tells you what it assumed instead of silently guessing. Idea Bench shows you an editable spec sheet before anything runs, so you approve exactly what gets tested.

How do I pay?

UPI, debit and credit cards. Recharges start at ₹199 — and starting is free with Google sign-in, no payment details at all.

You have the idea. Get the receipts.
